For sharing and collaborative access to various files related to our projects, we have launched the platform cloud.familienassistenz.de, a Nextcloud instance. It is hosted by Hetzner, with server locations in Europe, such as in Falkenstein (Germany).

For your first login, you will receive your access credentials with a temporary password. Please change this to maintain the security of our platform.

At some universities, Nextcloud or its predecessor ownCloud is known, perhaps even at yours.

How do I change my password?

Short:

File Upload: Click on the “+” icon or drag and drop files into the browser window.
Folder structure: Organize your files into thematic folders, e.g., by projects or patient groups.
Rename/Delete Files: You can rename or delete each file using the three-dot menu next to it.

Share files and folders

Create a share: Click on the share icon (two connected dots) next to a file or folder.Freigabeoptionen:
Users or Groups: Share content with specific individuals or groups within the platform.
Link sharing: Create a public link, optionally with password protection and expiration date.
Permissions: Specify whether recipients can edit, download, or view files only.

Data Protection and Security

Generate a strong password; Nextcloud also offers two-factor authentication (2FA). Please make use of this—our IT support team will be happy to assist you.
The data is stored within the EU in accordance with the GDPR. We use a cloud solution from Hetzner, which operates its servers in Europe in Germany (Falkenberg / Nuremberg) and in Finland (Helsinki).
Always ensure that only the necessary access rights are granted.
Our cloud performs a backup every day; however, for redundancy purposes, it is advisable to create your own backups of your data.
- You can install Nextcloud with an app (smartphone/computer) from https://www.nextcloud.com and, for example, back it up to an external hard drive.
- Alternatively, you can also integrate Nextcloud with the WebDAV protocol on your computer. To find out how, please contact support.

🛠️ Tips for Efficient Use

Favorites: Mark frequently used files or folders as favorites for quick access.
Search function: Use the search bar to quickly find files.
Mobile Usage: Install the Nextcloud app on your mobile device to access your files on the go. The app is called Nextcloud.
